Tay - Family & Baby

There is magic in a sunrise shoot. The low, golden light mixed with the morning mist of the meadow creates a truly otherworldly setting. The silence is broken only by the sounds of wildlife waking up in the first morning light. We hear our footsteps, we breathe out, we rest our hearts. The meadow at sunrise feels like a safe haven.

With the sun rising so early in the summer months, we were all at the location at 6AM on a July morning, ready to start, eager to catch the best light.

In autumn and winter, on the other hand, when the sun rises later, a morning shoot doesn’t have to start until 7AM or later.

Whether it’s a 6AM or 7AM start, morning photoshoots are some of my favourites. And I’m by no means a morning person! There’s something about the new day. The silence. The low sun in the mist. It’s a true magical experience, perfect for families with early-rising children, to fit in on a weekend morning or even before school start on a weekday.

On my shoot with Tay, by the time the first dog walkers appeared, we had already captured a gallery-full of beautiful images and were ready to head home. We carried through the rest of our day with the beautiful memories of what we had experienced and what we had created.
