What location should I choose for my shoot?
Whether it's a park, beach, forest, or field, a shoot’s location can dramatically increase the visual appeal of a gallery.
My locations are carefully selected to offer a variety of different settings, with ample space for children to run and explore, all whilst being easily accessible and with nearby parking.
Being the geek that I am, I have also studied all my locations so I know exactly where the sun rises and sets, and I’m ready to catch those beautiful golden rays as soon as they pop out!
Scroll down my location list to see examples of each setting.
Now close your eyes and imagine your own shoot. Where will it take us?
Meadow
The Meadow is a lush, sheltered haven in the outskirts of Norwich. Stunning at all times of year, the meadow simply transforms every season, changing its face but maintaining its beautiful features.
The Meadow is a great place for children to explore and run around. I like to time shoots just right so I can catch the golden setting or rising sun beaming through the trees.
This location has a pond, so please take that into consideration.
This location can be accessed with a buggy, however please consider taking non-walking babies in carriers instead, as the ground can sometimes be a little muddy.
Beach
Located near Great Yarmouth, this stretch of beach features dunes, greenery and fewer turists.
This spot is a short walk away from free parking and is accessible with a buggy (warning: you’ll need big muscles to push it over the sand!).
With tall grass to hide behind and shells & rocks to collect, this beach offers lots to keep the little ones (dogs included!) picturesquely entertained during your photoshoot.
This beach is frequently visited by dog walkers, so it’s better suited to families / children who aren’t afraid of doggies.
Park
Flatter and neater than the meadow, the park is less ‘wild and overgrown’ and more ‘tidy orchard’.
Located on the outskirts of Norwich, The Park is beautiful in every season, with lots of space for children to run & explore and open skies overhead.
Super-easy access from the on-site car park. This location can be accessed with a buggy, however please consider taking non-walking babies in carriers whenever possible, as the ground can sometimes be a little muddy during wet season (which is, well… all year around).
Field
Rolling hills, majestic oak trees and roaming cows make The Field a pretty magical place to spend an afternoon.
Looking lush and green in Spring/Summer, The Field turns into picturesque golden hues in Autumn.
The field, located on the outskirts of Norwich, is best suited for afternoon shoots, where we can make the most of the sun beautifully setting on the visible horizon.
This guide will inevitably expand as I try/test more locations and add them to my books, so keep an eye out.
Which location will you chose for your shoot?
Love,
